Refer a Company
Know a founder who has outgrown what a private company can do?
Peer-group chairs, business coaches, advisers and business owners send us companies that are ready to grow faster than their current structure allows. We look after them, keep you in the loop, and tell them honestly whether going public fits.
Who usually refers
Peer-group chairs, business coaches and consultants
You meet with owners every week or month and hear where they're stuck: hiring, buying competitors, funding growth.
Accountants, lawyers and advisers
You see the numbers and the plans, and you know which clients have the discipline for public reporting.
CEOs and investors
You know founders who are building something bigger than one business and want a different set of tools.
The company to think of
A strong fit
- An owner with 5 to 10 more years of drive who wants a much bigger company
- Can name the people they'd hire, the companies they'd buy or the partners they'd win with public stock to offer
- Can raise capital from their own network, with preparation
- Clean books, or could get them audit-ready within a few months
- Open to outside shareholders, a board and public reporting
Probably not a fit
- Wants someone else to find their investors
- Wants quick cash or to sell within a year or two
- Isn't willing to report publicly or answer to shareholders
Not sure? Introduce them anyway. A first conversation costs nothing, and we'll say plainly if it isn't a fit.
What happens after you introduce someone
- They complete a short questionnaire so we understand the company before we talk, and we know you sent them.
- We have a first conversation about their goals, numbers and timing. No cost, no obligation.
- We give them a straight answer. If going public fits, we explain how. If it doesn't, or not yet, we say what would need to change.
- We keep you informed, with the company's permission, at each step.
Your relationship stays yours
You stay involved
A company going public needs more outside help, not less. We work alongside the advisers it already trusts.
No pressure on your client
We only take on companies when we believe the playbook will help them build a much more valuable business. We screen every company first and say no when the fit isn't there, so the people you introduce get an honest answer, not a sales pitch.
We don't raise money for them
We prepare companies and coordinate the specialists. The company raises its own capital, and we never contact investors on its behalf. More in our FAQ
A referral fee. We offer a referral fee when a company you introduce becomes a client. It's tied to the engagement, never to money the company raises. Ask us for the details.
Introduce a company
Send the founder our questionnaire and ask them to name you where it asks who referred them. Prefer to talk it through first? Get in touch and we'll set up a call.
